A new motorcycling initiative in Cambodia is bringing women together on two wheels, combining the thrill of the open road with a push for female empowerment and community-based tourism. The journey takes riders through Siem Reap and the majestic ancient temples of Angkor Wat, before heading off to Battambang, Kampot, Kep, and Sihanoukville.
Bringing together local Cambodian and international women from all walks of life, the ride spreads a clear message of confidence, equality, and freedom. Beyond the road, the initiative uses its digital platforms to highlight women working on the ground in tourism and local businesses.
Organizer Muna Hark points out that the motorbikes are really just a symbol—the true goal is making these women visible. She hopes people exploring Cambodia will look beyond the scenic spots and get to know the inspiring women behind them: the local entrepreneurs, artists, hospitality professionals, creators, and community leaders driving their towns forward.
Ride leader Anna says seeing women step out of their comfort zones, try something new, and support each other gives others the courage to give it a shot too. She wants the event to serve as a lasting space where women encourage one another to take on fresh challenges.
The initiative also aligns with global women’s leadership efforts that advocate for a life free from violence and discrimination. Moving forward, organizers hope to turn the ride into an annual fixture, bringing in even more participants, local communities, and partners with every edition.
