August has been a busy month for the Ministry of Interior. They shut down 85 small online scam websites and arrested 1,255 suspects from 13 different countries. According to police reports, among those arrested, 732 are Chinese, 323 are Vietnamese, and 94 are Cambodians, along with individuals from Thailand, Indonesia, and other nations.
During this time, the Immigration Department also handled the deportation of 2,005 foreigners, including 320 women from 32 countries. Out of these, 574 individuals were directly linked to online scams, which is quite alarming. To cooperate with the Chinese embassy, the Immigration Department organized three charter flights to send 473 Chinese nationals back home.
Additionally, routine inspections were carried out, covering 3,657 locations and involving 17,834 people. There were also roadside checks, where 269 suspicious vehicles were stopped and 2,763 individuals had their documents checked. These efforts are aimed at preventing criminals from roaming freely, and the authorities are determined to crack down on these illegal activities.
