According to local media, an investor is putting 6.6 million US dollars into building the country's very first canned sardine factory, complete with a brand-new local label called "Kraya."
The plan is to use locally sourced fish and spices while sticking to international production standards. Neighbors won't have to wait too long to try the home-grown canned goods either—they are expected to hit the market by the end of 2026.
