Hey, have you heard? Over in Kampong Speu, inside Kirirom National Park, they've gone and torn down another bunch of illegal shacks. Thirty of them, actually. All made of wood, with plastic sheeting for roofs, you know the type. Apparently, folks were trying to grab land, just building without permission.
This isn't the first time this has happened. The park rangers, or environmental officers, whatever you call them, they're always having to patrol. Kirirom is a beautiful spot, no doubt, but people always try to stake out a piece of land there. Maybe they're hoping to set up a little shop, or some kind of business. But if you don't have the proper papers, it's a no-go. The rules here are pretty strict.
Honestly, what's the point? All that hard work to build them, only for them to get torn down. Everyone's just trying to find a way to make a living, you know, with all the daily struggles. But national park land, that's protected, right? The local authorities must be getting a real headache from this. They tear them down, people build them up again, then they tear them down again. It's a constant hassle for everyone.
