The motorbikes in Phnom Penh were packed bumper-to-bumper as usual when the National Employment Agency and its partners set up a massive venue a few days ago for the 2026 National Employment and Productivity Fair. Over 150 top-tier companies from various industries showed up, putting more than 35,000 jobs on the table.

Local media reported that plenty of young people have been looking for work lately, all hoping to try their luck at the event. Regulars at the local tea stalls say that with prices rising fast these days, having a steady monthly salary in your pocket is better than anything else.

Walking down the street, you could see young jobseekers clutching resumes under the blazing sun, rushing to get around. The recruitment booths were packed shoulder-to-shoulder as everyone hoped to land a decent gig from the fair and build a stable life.
