Heard recently that an official named Prak Thav Amida, along with his team, made a trip out to Kratie Province. Not to a big city like Phnom Penh, mind you, but to the more remote O'Krieng Sen Chey district.
Their mission? To give out some much-needed items to students. They distributed 88 bicycles, each coming as a complete set with a helmet and a water bottle – 88 sets in total. These donations were specifically for students from less privileged backgrounds, you know, those who are struggling a bit, to make their daily journey to school a whole lot easier.
You can imagine, in many parts of the country, kids have to travel quite a distance to get to school. Without a bike, how far do they have to walk every single day? Sure, motorbikes are common here, but most students definitely can't afford one. So, these bicycles? They're truly a big deal for these kids.
Local media also highlighted the initiative, calling it a really heartwarming gesture. The hope is that these students can now focus on their studies and work towards a brighter future.
