Myanmar's junta chief, Min Aung Hlaing, flew into Phnom Penh on Friday morning for a two-day official visit. He made the trip at the invitation of King Norodom Sihamoni to discuss bilateral ties and cooperation.
Traffic kept moving as usual under the hot afternoon sun. Local TV stations carried the news, but people sitting by the roadside with their iced coffees mostly just glanced at the screen before turning back to the business of the day.
According to local reports, the agenda is packed with meetings for the next two days. For most folks in Phnom Penh, though, the only real impact was having to navigate a few extra road closures and detours on the way around town.
