At the invitation of Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni, Myanmar's leader Min Aung Hlaing has arrived in Cambodia for a two-day state visit. He touched down today at Techo International Airport, where he was greeted by Minister of Water Resources and Meteorology Thor Chetha alongside other senior officials.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Min Aung Hlaing is set to hold summit talks with acting head of state and Senate President Hun Sen, as well as a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Hun Manet. The leaders are expected to focus on strengthening bilateral ties and exchanging views on regional and international issues.
During his visit, the Myanmar leader will also lay wreaths at the Independence Monument and the Royal Memorial Statue of the late King Father Norodom Sihanouk. Cambodia and Myanmar officially established diplomatic relations back in July 1955. On the streets, locals are taking the high-level diplomatic visit in stride—life goes on as usual, with the usual buzz of motorbikes squeezing through the crossroads.
