Ministry of Labour spokesperson Sun Mesa weighed in on the matter, calling on netizens who posted or shared the story to provide specific details—namely, which factory this actually happened at—so labor officials can head straight over to investigate.
The ministry also issued a firm reminder to all business owners, factory managers, and supervisors across all levels to keep their language and behavior professional on the job. At the same time, officials urged workers who face verbal abuse, harsh treatment, or poor working conditions to call the 1286 hotline directly to report the issues.
For many garment and factory workers who ride into the industrial zones among endless streams of motorbikes at dawn and head home as roadside food stalls fire up at dusk, a full day of manual labor is hard enough.
