Around 10:40 AM on the 21st, a joint task force moved in on a modest rental house in Village 4, Sangkat Preah Ponlea, right in the heart of Serai Saophoan, Banteay Meanchey province. It was no small operation—the raid was led directly by the deputy provincial governor, accompanied by the city governor, police, military police, and a deputy provincial court prosecutor who was on scene to coordinate the bust on the suspected online scam setup.
Officers arrested three suspects on the spot, including two women. Inside the property, they seized three all-in-one desktop computers and three smartphones. The devices were immediately handed over to tech crime investigators for forensic extraction, while the three suspects were taken into custody by the criminal police department for interrogation and further legal action.
The task force didn't stop there. Later that day, they swept two other suspected hideouts along the streets of Serai Saophoan, though both turned up empty.
In border towns like this, rental homes often look completely unassuming from the outside—pulled curtains can instantly turn a living room into a makeshift scam floor. But this time, before the exhaust from passing motorbikes outside had even cleared, law enforcement was already at the front door.
