The South China Sea is heating up again. The Philippines claims one of their government vessels was hit by a Chinese coast guard ship. This happened in disputed waters, and reports suggest the Chinese ship deliberately rammed them.
Officials say the Philippine vessel was delivering oil supplies to local fishermen when the Chinese ship suddenly cut across in front of them, nearly causing a collision. Then it turned around and directly hit the side of the Philippine ship, causing significant damage.
This incident took place near Palawan, and it's not the first time something like this has happened. The South China Sea has long been a point of contention. China insists these areas are theirs, but the Philippines and other countries disagree. Even though an international court ruled against China's claims, Beijing seems unfazed. Thankfully, no one was injured this time, though the Philippine ship lost some parts. China denies responsibility, accusing the Philippines of provoking the situation.
