This place had been previously busted for online scams, leading to a swift police shutdown. The governor's visit aimed to assess the situation and ensure laws are being enforced properly.
This inspection took place on September 19 at a border checkpoint in Mondulkiri. The governor emphasized the visit's purpose was to follow up on the situation and strengthen law enforcement. Earlier, the police had taken strict action against the online scams, which were not only crossing borders but also affecting social safety and the area's reputation.
The governor urged local authorities to keep a close eye on online scams. Even legally operating casinos must avoid online gambling and stick to government regulations. He stressed that Mondulkiri should no longer be a hub for online scams, and everyone needs to work together to maintain safety and order in the border areas.
