Over in Paris the other day, Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister in charge of the Council of Ministers Vongsey Vissoth sat down with Marc Guillaume, Vice-President of the French Council of State. After wrapping up their talks, the two sides signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at boosting exchanges between Cambodia's legal advisory teams and the French Council of State, deepening practical cooperation in the legal sector.
According to local media reports, both sides noted during the signing that the agreement not only builds a long-term strategic framework, but also supports Cambodia’s ongoing administrative reforms and youth capacity building. With administrative and commercial law currently in high demand on the ground, the country is in real need of this kind of hands-on experience sharing. France's seasoned expertise in administrative law, in particular, will provide valuable guidance for Cambodia's young legal officers.
Chatting over coffee, local observers agreed that whether it comes to infrastructure or the law, learning from outside experience is always beneficial. Moving forward, the plan is to turn these written commitments into real-world action, ensuring young officials truly learn on the job and keeping this cooperation going for the long haul.
