Cambodian media reports that local actress Danh Monica recently dug up some old photos from when she starred in the film *Tum Teav* 26 years ago. Looking back at her younger self on set, she marveled at how fast time flies, though she still holds onto all those fond memories from filming.
Ask any older movie buff here about the film, and they'll know it right away. Back then, it was a massive production adapted from Cambodia's famous classical tragedy, and the audition process was fiercely competitive. The hopefuls lining up were all tall, stunning, and had actual acting experience. For a newcomer like her, landing the lead role of Teav was a massive, intimidating challenge.
Even though she went on to star in plenty of other films and dramas over the years, she admits that *Tum Teav* remains her all-time favorite. It was the role that truly put her on the map—so much so that to this day, people walking down the street still recognize her and call her by her character's name.
