Calmette Hospital in Phnom Penh has just taken delivery of a major batch of medical supplies worth over $500,000. The handover was led by the Senate’s 10th Commission, which deals with anti-corruption and investigation, acting as a bridge for the South Korean NGO Global Life Sharing to deliver a wide array of pharmaceuticals directly to the hospital’s directors.
The shipment includes 29 different types of medicine, offering timely relief for the hospital's daily operations. Local media noted that this delivery is part of an ongoing partnership. The South Korean foundation and the Cambodian Senate have previously signed several MoUs, steadily bringing in shipments of medicines, medical equipment, and daily necessities.
For everyday folks, the biggest question with any donation is always whether the aid actually reaches the people who need it. According to local officials, before these supplies arrived at the major hospital in Phnom Penh, a portion was already earmarked for distribution to provincial health centers and border communities.
