Mondol Seima isn't the only area getting swept. Local sources say this crackdown on illegal business signs is now underway across Koh Kong province, with roadside signboards being stripped away over the past few days.
Out on the roads, motorbikes zoom by through clouds of dust. Walking down the street, you can see that many of these shops have actually been out of business for a while—dusty metal shutters pulled tight, leaving behind only illegal signs hanging under the eaves. As the crews dismantle them, it feels like a final clean-out for shops that closed long ago. With so many signboards taken down, the streets are looking noticeably emptier than usual.
