On the afternoon of September 15, Kandal Provincial Governor Kuoch Chamroeun personally led a joint team of police officers, military police, and court prosecutors on a round of inspections targeting local casino businesses. The governor delivered a firm directive to the provincial unified command: strictly follow national guidelines and completely flush out every cyber-scam operation hiding in the province.
To get the public on board, officials are offering cash rewards for solid leads. Anyone who provides information that helps police bust a scam setup will be rewarded, and authorities promise that informants' identities will be kept strictly confidential. Governor Chamroeun also instructed teams to step up daily street patrols, track down small and covert scam cells operating under the radar, and build a tighter intelligence network to root out online fraud from Kandal once and for all.
