Over the last few days, a residential house in Poipet’s Friendship Village was suddenly surrounded by the local military police. Neighbors said it was quite a scene, with police cruisers and law enforcement officers swarming the area and hauling a number of people away on the spot.
Raids like this aren't exactly new around town, but whenever the red and blue lights suddenly flash down the alleyway, it still gives people a start. Most folks living in this neighborhood are just trying to make a living, coming and going every day without paying much attention to what their neighbors are actually up to.
Local media reported that the operation was a targeted raid by law enforcement. Just what exactly was going on inside will have to wait for an official statement, leaving people on the street with little more than a fresh topic of conversation over tea.
