On the afternoon of September 13, police in Chaiyaphum Province conducted a raid in Battambang City, targeting three suspected online scam operations. The issue of online fraud has become quite serious here, so the police are taking it very seriously.
This operation was significant, resulting in the arrest of four individuals—two Chinese nationals and two Cambodians. They seized a lot of items, including 36 mobile phones, five iPads, three computers, a car, and 18 passports. Shockingly, 16 of those passports were Japanese, along with two Chinese ones.
The suspects and the seized items have been handed over to the Cyber Crime Unit for further investigation. Local security is tightening up, and people are starting to talk more about the risks of online scams. It’s definitely raising concerns in the community.
