Hey, you hear about this? Guess what happened in Melaka again.
Local media's reporting that on September 10th, around noon, police suddenly raided two spots in Melaka Raya, busting the whole operation. They nabbed three Chinese nationals, aged roughly 29 to 37. This was a joint effort by the Melaka State and Central District Commercial Crime Investigation Departments. Sounds like they'd been watching them for a while. Honestly, you hear about these kinds of scams happening here all the time. It's non-stop.
Police investigations so far suggest these guys only started "operating" in early August. They were putting up fake job ads on TikTok, promising returns if you "liked" posts or played a game called Aether Swap. Classic task-scam stuff, you know, where you "boost" sales or engagement for a commission. Sounds familiar, right? Same old tricks. These "employees" were apparently making around RM3,000 a month, paid directly via WeChat Pay. Probably rented some small apartment, curtains drawn all day, then busy on their laptops and phones all night, raking in dirty money.
They seized a bunch of stuff from the scene: laptops, 23 mobile phones, routers, ledgers, and even two wooden racks – all their "work" tools. These three are currently detained until September 14th, facing further investigation under fraud charges.
See? Around here, these "easy money" schemes are still everywhere. Everyone really needs to keep their eyes peeled and not get fooled by those high-paying job ads. Otherwise, you could easily end up as an accomplice or, worse, a victim.
