Just recently, on September 5th, police from Menggu County were at the border post in Zaotanghe Township. They officially handed over a group of individuals involved in illegal activities to the Ruili City Public Security Bureau.
There were 16 people in total, all Chinese nationals. And from what we hear, quite a bit of evidence and seized items were part of the transfer too.
This wasn't just a routine handover, mind you. Zhang Lüfa, who's both the Deputy Head of Menggu County and their Chief of Police, personally led the team. He was there on-site with Ruili officials, making sure everything – both the people and the items – was properly transferred. We're talking about computers, mobile phones, and other communication gear. It really looks like this operation was well-planned and they came prepared.
Local media outlets are reporting that this kind of cross-border cooperation is a big step towards better border security and tighter law enforcement collaboration between the two sides. And it's the talk of the town, really. Folks on the street are saying these actions are definitely good for maintaining stability along the border. Everyone's just hoping for a safer environment for all.
