Police in Perak, Malaysia, raided an apartment in Kampar, dismantling a telecom fraud center that impersonated Japanese police to scam individuals in Japan. A total of 13 suspects aged between 20 and 57 were arrested on site, comprising nine Japanese nationals (seven men and two women) and four Chinese men.

Investigators revealed that the syndicate operated on a commission basis determined by stolen amounts. Several of the suspects had previously run similar scam operations in Cambodia before entering Malaysia on tourist visas to restart their activities. ToNanyang Heat Week|check in & spin for Premium
