On October 15, Sharjah Police and the Public Prosecution announced the results of a major joint operation codenamed "End of Battle." The crackdown dismantled four transnational criminal networks involved in an AED 8.8 billion operation, marking the largest case in the history of the Sharjah Police. Officers arrested 33 suspects from 12 nationalities and implicated six companies. While reports indicate that the sprawling case was originally triggered by a 15-year-old, authorities have not yet released specific details regarding the youth's identity or exact role.

Investigators revealed that the criminal groups systematically hunted high-net-worth crypto whales worldwide. Their methods ranged from sophisticated cyberattacks to physical kidnappings aimed at coercing victims into surrendering private keys. The illicitly acquired crypto assets were then laundered through complex on-chain transaction paths before being funneled into the UAE to fund opulent lifestyles and purchase luxury real estate, luxury watches, and exotic vehicles.

Assets worth over AED 200 million were seized during the raids, including 17 luxury vehicles, 29 high-end watches, fine jewelry, one completed residential villa, two villas currently under construction, and two residential plots. Police noted that the cross-border operation successfully averted potential losses exceeding AED 65 billion for more than 30 global institutions.

As the UAE solidifies its status as a premier global hub for web3 and digital assets, local law enforcement is rapidly tightening the net around illicit cash flows and cross-border extortion rings, signaling a far harsher operating environment for illicit funds.
