According to an account from an employment agent, an entity operating under the name "Tianya Forex" used claims of lucrative foreign exchange trading in Bangkok to attract personnel. The agent initially requested a video call to inspect the workplace, believing the footage was genuine before booking the client's flight to Thailand. Looking back, the agent now suspects the call used AI-generated visuals or pre-recorded staging.
Upon landing in Bangkok, the promised pickup turned into a relay across several vehicles heading straight toward the Myanmar border. In a frantic final video call, the agent says armed men could be seen forcing the victim onto a military truck, with sounds of beating throughout. Contact was lost after 2:00 AM.
According to the agent, the victim has since been confirmed held inside a scam compound in Myawaddy, Myanmar. Captors have sent abuse videos demanding ransoms, and despite the family transferring around 300,000 RMB across three payments, the captors still refuse to release him. The family has reported the incident to police, underscoring how transit routes through Bangkok are systematically exploited to feed border trafficking hubs.
