On October 5, Cambodia's Anti-Cyber Scam Secretariat and the Commercial Gambling Management Commission (CGMC) held a joint meeting with the Ministry of Interior, national police, and representatives from 16 casino-hosting provinces. Authorities outlined two main directives: completely banning and shutting down all online gambling operations housed inside casinos, and establishing joint inspection task forces to scrutinize venues nationwide starting this month.
Senior Minister Chhay Sinarith reiterated that law enforcement will strictly pursue online scams and unlicensed iGaming. Regulators stressed that non-compliant operators will not only face administrative penalties but will also be referred directly to judicial authorities for criminal prosecution.
