On October 4, immigration and tourist police in Hat Yai, Songkhla Province, intercepted a suspicious car and discovered a 41-year-old Chinese man surnamed Yang hiding inside, accompanied by two Thai women facilitating the transport. Officers quickly tracked down and detained another Thai man driving a scout car at a nearby gas station.
Investigations revealed that Yang had illegally crossed into Thailand from Cambodia and intended to transit further south into Malaysia. Unable to present a valid passport, he was charged with illegal entry and related offenses. The three Thai suspects have been taken into custody as authorities expand their investigation into the broader smuggling network.
