The Immigration Department of Malaysia (JIM) recently launched a surprise raid on a club in Kepong. Enforcement officers entered the premises to verify travel documents and visas, detaining several foreign female hostesses on-site and bringing them in for questioning.
Preliminary checks revealed that many held visas that did not permit their current line of work, constituting illegal employment or overstaying. Those confirmed to be working illegally face fines and deportation, while the nightclub operator is also set to be penalized for employing undocumented foreign labor.
