The October 4 raid was carried out by the National Police alongside Banteay Meanchey provincial authorities. A total of 587 people were rounded up, including 105 women. The vast majority were Indonesian nationals (518 individuals), along with Thai and Cambodian nationals.
Interior Ministry deputy spokesperson Touch Sokhak stated that early media reports caused confusion regarding the nature of the case, emphasizing that the bust targeted online gaming and gambling rather than cyber fraud syndicates.
