The suspect, Chen Yusen, is accused of running online investment fraud in China before fleeing across the border. Ruian police in Zhejiang province issued a warrant for his arrest back on November 20, 2024, but his run ended during the spot check.
Chen has been transferred to the Criminal Police Department under Vietnam's Ministry of Public Security for deportation procedures. Local authorities in Hung Yen are currently ramping up inspections on rental properties and hotels to weed out illegal foreign residents and fugitives.
