A foreign national was arrested on the spot at Suvarnabhumi Airport after customs officers intercepted them attempting to enter the country with US dollar cash equivalent to around 56 million Thai baht. Both the suspect and the massive amount of undeclared cash were taken into custody immediately.

Thai customs authorities have unprecedentedly tightened inspections and border controls against cross-border cash smuggling recently, fueled by an ongoing nationwide crackdown on money laundering.
