According to police on October 3, fraudsters impersonated police officers on September 29, falsely claiming the student was implicated in a drug trafficking case. Under psychological coercion, they took remote control of her phone, acquired sensitive media, and instructed her to leave her residence while cutting all ties with family. The scammers then contacted her parents to demand a 150 million VND ransom under the guise of an abduction.
Her family sensed something was amiss and reported the case to Duc Nhuan ward police around 9 p.m. that night. Law enforcement quickly tracked down the student and secured her safety, successfully stopping the extortion attempt. An investigation is ongoing. ToNanyang Heat Week|check in & spin for Premium
