According to the Bureau of Immigration and AFP, joint forces raided two sites in southern Mindanao, detaining a total of 244 foreign nationals. At one location, 110 Chinese citizens and several other foreigners were apprehended, while the second site yielded 131 foreign workers, mostly Chinese along with Malaysian, Indonesian, and Myanmar nationals. Authorities seized large quantities of computer equipment, laptops, mobile phones, and SIM cards.
Immigration officials stated that some detainees are under investigation for human trafficking-related offenses, while others facing immigration violations will be processed for deportation. Following the nationwide ban on POGOs introduced in 2024, authorities reiterated their commitment to strictly enforcing immigration laws to curb illicit networks.
