On the evening of September 26, border authorities in Quang Tri Province intercepted a seven-seat vehicle on the North-South Expressway in Phu Trach Commune. Two men from Da Nang were found transporting four Chinese nationals—Su Binghui, Zheng Desheng, Zhang Yue, and Chen Mengjun—towards the border without valid travel documents. The following day, a woman responsible for the initial transport segment from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang was also apprehended in Khanh Hoa Province.

Vietnamese authorities have formally launched a criminal case against the three local transporters for organizing illegal exit from the country, transferring them to the provincial security investigation agency. The four Chinese nationals received administrative fines and were handed over to immigration authorities for further processing.
