Latest data shows that its stock trading service, GStocks, now accounts for more than half of all online retail accounts on the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE). Beyond equities, GCash's GFunds handles roughly four-fifths of the country's Unit Investment Trust Fund (UITF) transactions, while its crypto platform, GCrypto, is approaching 5 million registered accounts.
The trend is largely fueled by ultra-low entry barriers, with some funds requiring as little as 50 PHP and select stocks starting around 500 to 750 PHP. However, GCash cautioned that lower barriers do not mean lower risk, advising users to build an emergency fund and understand market volatility before entering stocks and crypto.
