A survivor who recently managed to return home shared his harrowing ordeal in northern Myanmar. Enticed by promises of lucrative earnings, he entered a scam compound, only to have his mobile phone and identity documents immediately seized upon arrival. He was then coerced into operating telecom fraud schemes.
He once attempted to escape the compound, but was caught, subjected to harsh physical beatings, and placed under strict confinement. After reaching out through multiple distress calls, he finally secured help and made it back home safely.
