The victim was a 39-year-old Malaysian national. On the morning of October 1, he arrived alone at the Prince Huan Yu building in Chamkar Mon District to rent a room for a single day. After receiving his keycard, he took the elevator up to the 33rd floor by himself. At around 7:26 AM, apartment staff heard a loud thud outside and found the man dead on the pavement.
Surveillance footage confirmed that the man entered the room alone. Based on the crime scene examination, camera records, and forensic results, police preliminarily ruled the death a suicide resulting from severe trauma sustained in the fall.
