The raids took place on September 22 across Teluk Kumbar and Bukit Bella. The arrested suspects, aged between 20 and 63, include 10 Cambodian nationals (one man and nine women) alongside 19 Chinese nationals (18 men and one woman). Officers confiscated 251 mobile phones, 17 laptops, routers, suspected fake driving licenses, and scratch cards.
According to authorities, the syndicate promoted fake scratch-and-win contests on Facebook, baiting victims with lucrative prizes and tricking them into transferring payments under the guise of processing fees, taxes, or insurance.
