On September 30, at the First Lao-Thai Friendship Bridge checkpoint connecting Vientiane and Nong Khai, a special task force from the Lao Ministry of Public Security transferred custody of 25 Thai suspects (including 11 women) to Thai police. The suspects are accused of running online gambling and cybercrime rings and will face further legal processing in Thailand.
The 25 individuals were initially apprehended during a coordinated sweep on September 16, which raided operations across Eastin Hotel, Inthad Hotel, Minta Hotel, and La Sen Hotel in Vientiane. Officials from both sides formalized the transfer in accordance with Lao immigration laws and bilateral cooperative agreements.
