On the afternoon of September 28 in Cikampek, Karawang Regency, West Java, a Chinese business owner and his local employee withdrew 130 million Indonesian Rupiah from a bank. Shortly after driving off, they were tailed by a gang on motorcycles. The suspects signaled to them that their tire was flat, tricking them into pulling over near a repair shop. When both men stepped out to check, lurking accomplices smashed the car window, snatched the backpack containing the cash, and sped off.
Karawang police confirmed the robbery and stated that a four-man gang was behind the operation, with an active manhunt currently underway. Police noted that this "flat tire" tactic is a well-coordinated setup where criminals stake out banks to track high-value cash withdrawals and strike the moment victims leave their vehicles unattended.
