Speaking with journalists from nine ASEAN nations in Beijing on September 28, Chinese Foreign Ministry official Wang Dexin stated that China is ready to deepen joint efforts with Myanmar and other regional countries to combat transnational telecom fraud. He noted that Cambodia, Thailand, Laos, the Philippines, and Malaysia have all been affected by these illicit operations.
Wang noted that leaders from China and Myanmar had previously discussed bilateral cooperation on the issue, expressing appreciation for Myanmar's support while calling for continued regional coordination. The remarks follow an international conference hosted by Cambodia in Phnom Penh on September 23–24, which urged nations to bolster intelligence sharing and joint enforcement to prevent scam networks from relocating and infiltrating across borders.
