At 10:00 PM on September 28, Timor-Leste's Criminal Investigation Department and intelligence units launched a targeted raid in the Comoro area of Dili, re-arresting 14 Chinese nationals. The suspects were already under formal investigation (case file NUC:0247/2026-PNSIK) for illegally running a scam call center and were supposed to be under court-approved bail supervision.
Police confirmed that during their release, the group continued to secretly operate call center scams using mobile phones. Officers seized 10 iPhones alongside multiple electronic devices on-site.
