Myanmar nationals accounted for 125 of those repatriated, second only to Indonesians (150). The remaining detainees included citizens from India (21), Bangladesh (13), Pakistan (12), China (8), Sri Lanka (3), and Nigeria (1). Deportees were escorted out through Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA 1 and KLIA 2) and the Pasir Gudang ferry terminal.

The Immigration Department stated that travel costs were covered by the detainees' personal savings, their families, or their respective foreign embassies. All 333 individuals have been blacklisted and are barred from re-entering Malaysia for a stipulated period.
