Arriving in Manila at the age of 27, he is now almost 40. Over the past nine years, he only returned to China twice for brief visits totaling less than 10 days. His mother even joked that she had almost forgotten what he looked like.
He maintained an extremely frugal lifestyle during his time in the Philippines. After spending his first two years in company dormitories, he rented a local house for 6,000 pesos a month for the next seven years. He bought his own groceries, cooked his own meals, and kept his personal adult entertainment to the absolute cheapest options available at 2,000 pesos a night.
Through years of work and strict saving, he has accumulated enough money to sustain his future life in China. For his first two years back, he plans to do nothing but enjoy life and travel with his parents. He has no intention of getting married anytime soon and prefers to leave future career plans for later.
Acknowledging that his age no longer suits the industry, he noted it is highly unlikely he will return to Southeast Asia. Before takeoff, he deleted his Telegram account, bidding a final farewell to the Philippines.
