Acting on directives from the Ministry of Public Security to guard against this spillover, police in Thanh Hoa province recently dismantled a transnational online fraud ring headquartered inside Vietnam, arresting 118 suspects.
Those detained include five Vietnamese nationals and 113 foreigners: 74 Chinese, 28 Indian, nine Cambodian, one Malaysian, and one Myanmar national.
Investigations identified Zhao Xuefeng, a Chinese national also known as Dong, as the ringleader and direct head of the criminal organization.
