According to Pakistani newspaper Dawn, an armed robbery occurred around 2:20 a.m. on October 18 in the F-7/1 sector of Islamabad. Several individuals dressed in police uniforms broke into a residence housing two Chinese nationals, held them and two domestic workers at gunpoint, and fled with approximately 2 million Pakistani rupees in cash and a mobile phone.
Investigators tracked the suspects through surveillance footage and arrested four serving capital police officers suspected of taking part. Authorities have formally registered a case under Section 395 of the Pakistan Penal Code for dacoity, and the investigation remains underway.
This marks the fourth robbery targeting Chinese residences in Islamabad since August 29, with previous incidents also involving perpetrators posing as law enforcement. Wearing uniforms often makes it nearly impossible for residents to refuse entry, so anyone abroad facing a late-night "police" visit may want to verify credentials or call the local police or their embassy before opening the door.
