On October 12, joint forces used controlled explosives to bring down a 13-story high-rise in Shwe Kokko's Second New District, a building previously operating as a cyber scam and online gambling facility. Heavy machinery was also deployed to demolish two adjacent five-story buildings, with one already 90 percent dismantled and the other roughly 20 percent down.
Local reports state that 63 more buildings in the district are lined up for demolition. Enforcement teams are rotating between controlled blasting, heavy machinery, and manual floor-by-floor teardowns depending on local density and building layouts. As cross-border pressure continues to bear down on the border region, the physical infrastructure that once sheltered these sprawling gray-market zones is being steadily erased.
Even though syndicates and staff had already begun dispersing before the demolition crews arrived, the sight of multi-story compounds collapsing makes it clear that the physical overhead of operating in Shwe Kokko is becoming untenable.
