On October 8, the Immigration Office of Cao Bang Provincial Police, in coordination with border guard forces, deported a Chinese national and handed him over to Chinese authorities at the Soc Giang border gate. The individual, identified as Wang Zhaoming (born 1985, from Fujian Province), was intercepted on September 22 during a joint road inspection conducted by traffic police and immigration officers along National Highway 3.

Bordering Guangxi's Baise and Chongzuo regions, Cao Bang's mountainous border has historically been used by undocumented travelers attempting to enter Vietnam or transit onward across the region. However, local enforcement has expanded far beyond border posts, with frequent mobile checkpoints on key arterial roads making it nearly impossible for undocumented migrants to move inland undetected.

Following identity checks and standard administrative procedures, Wang was escorted back across the frontier. With bilateral scrutiny tightening on both sides of the border, illicit entry routes are offering virtually zero margin for error.
