Around 6:30 p.m. on October 10, Tak immigration officers, working alongside Immigration Division 5 investigators and military personnel from Task Force R.1431, intercepted a suspicious individual along the forest edge in Mahawan subdistrict, Mae Sot District. The individual was identified as a 21-year-old Chinese national found without a passport or valid travel documentation.
Authorities detained him on charges of illegal entry into the country. Mae Sot serves as a key frontier corridor adjacent to Myawaddy, Myanmar, making surrounding rural trails a primary target for border enforcement and routine joint patrols.
Young foreign nationals intercepted along these border paths are often guided by underground smuggling networks, and those apprehended inevitably face legal proceedings followed by deportation.
