Myanmar military media reported on October 11 that a six-story unauthorized structure linked to online fraud and gambling was leveled via controlled explosion in Myawaddy's Shwe Kokko on October 10. The demolition marks the continuation of local clearance efforts aimed at illicit operations in the border zone.

Authorities had previously flagged a total of 140 unauthorized buildings tied to scam and gambling activities in the area. During the first phase, 77 buildings were demolished. The second phase, initiated on October 6, is targeting the remaining 63 properties.

As of October 10, two structures in this second batch have been taken down, leaving 61 more on the official clearance list. The physical room for grey-market operations along the border is visibly shrinking, raising the relocation costs and operational risks for compound operators.

With each planned blast, the illicit ecosystem built around these border complexes is being forced into another round of reshuffling.
