Here's how it unfolded: the 30-year-old Chinese man, who runs a currency exchange business locally, thought they were in a genuine relationship. However, the woman managed to get 130,000 pesos from him, claiming it was to win her parents' blessing.
But it didn't stop there. She demanded another 200,000 pesos to show her parents he could support the relationship. It was only when she asked for an additional 10,000 pesos in the early hours that the man realized something was off and called the police. Responding swiftly, the police set up a sting operation using marked bills. When the woman accepted the 10,000 pesos, they arrested her on the spot.
There was another twist at the scene: a 29-year-old Filipino man tried to help her escape but was also apprehended. The report didn't clarify his connection to the woman. Now, she faces fraud charges, while the man is charged with obstructing justice.
